This is something you have to check out with the bursar. Sometimes scholarships are solely for US citizens. Sometimes they are for visa students. Sometimes they are for students who graduated from a particular school. There are thousands of strings attached to scholarships. If you have having visa problems and getting your visa extended depends upon being granted a scholarship, tell this to your bursar and ask for his or her assistance. If you have qualified for a scholarship (and they require more than just high marks) he or she will be able to tell you, and you can then present this information when you apply for your visa extension. But by asking questions on the internet, you are simply wasting your time because it doesn't matter what anyone on line thinks, this is something that only your bursar can answer.

What is a 97 GPA? The highest you can have is a 4.0. Work study or an assistantship will pay for your school. My friend was not a U.S. citizen and that's what she did. I did the same and I am.

first you cant have a 97 gpa....a gpa is a grade Point Average..usually based on a 4.0 scale..so id say youd have a 3.9 or 3.8...and even tho you are not a us citizen there are places to get scholorships...go to scholarshipexperts.com sign up and see what it comes up with ...its going to ask you alot of questions which will narrow down the search to match the answers you picked....and try to get your visa renewed that will help! good luck
