just got back from seeing it, yes he does

I haven't seen this new one but in the original one with Edward Woodward, he does get burned alive in the big wicker man. I could never work out why they burnt him. Was it to silence him about their tradition and ways or was it because he was still a virgin and they needed one to sacrifice to the wicker man??
All that probably sounds shyte to you, oh well never mind lol.

I haven't seen the Hollywood blockbuster version of this cult classic, which needed no remake, so I can't tell you. Suffice to say that Hollywood likes a happy ending and cares little for original plot lines, so I guess he escapes, gets the girl and buggers off on a jet ski...

In the orginal, he does. I loved the original, and, as much as I adore Nic Cage, I won't be watching this remake, so I'll never know either.
