First part of the question: in order to go to truck driver school, you have to be old enough to get a learner's permit so you can practice driving the truck. In most states, that's 18. HOWEVER, once you complete school, and get a commercial driver's license, you CANNOT drive the truck across the state line until you're 21.
Second part: depends on the school. If you take the course from a reputable community college, plan on $800 - $1500 for a several week course. If you sign up with "Joe Truck Driver", you may get away with as little as a six pack and ten bucks.

Most truck driving schools require u to be 21.On the price it depends some company's will pay for it then u have have to work for them for a year or two other wise look to pay any where between 3000 to 8000 dollars.

Some companies will pay your way, they need drivers bad.
10 years ago when I went, the state (Oklahoma) paid for it as part of a job employment program. Maybe there is a similar program in the state where you live.
But I see you're only 16 so it will be awhile. Plus, I just can't see 'A Face Of Tears' driving a big-rig down the road.

i'm sure you have to be at least 18. my son went to trucking school, Schneider to be exact and it is free as long as you agree to drive for them for 1 year. If you quit before your year is up, you have to pay back $3000-$3500, i don't remember which it was. Anyway, it's a good truckdriving school and he went to Dallas for his. He was top in his class when he graduated. You can fill out an application online with them if you are interested.

I believe you have to be 18 and I know for sure it's expensive, although i don't have the exact fugres it will be in the tens of thousands of dollars to get all the different tickets you'll need.

You have to already have a drivers license and about $1000 and up depending on where you go.
