because there was a chord that led to your stomach so that you could be fed while you were in the womb... duh... we don't just magically appear on earth...

The belly button is where you were attached to your mother when she was pregnant with you. The umbilical cord is how you were nurished when you were an embryo, and the umbilical cord was attached to what you now call a belly button. After you are born, you no longer need this attachment to your mother, so the umbilical cord is cut, and results in your bellybutton.

That is the result of being created and surviving until you make your way into the world from your mothers womb, its what feeds you while you and other babies are in the belly and when you come out that is the first of many cords that are cut, and depending how the doctor cuts it if it is in outty or inny.

Your belly button was where your umbilical cord was attached to you while you were in your mother's womb. EVERY animal has a belly button - because EVERY animal was live-sustained by its mother before birth (in other words we didn't hatch from eggs...although even baby chickens have belly buttons because THEY are sustained in the egg by the yolk and that is connected to them by an umbilical cord as well).

It's what is left over from the umbilical cord being cut. While it is a stump, and it serves no purpose, it does identify you as human being born of a woman.
You would need to worry if you did not have one.

we have it because everyone was born out of their mom ans was connected to them by the belly button, by an embelical cord, so after we r born, there is no purpose for them anymore!

cuz it's where the placenta cord plugs into the baby. Without it there would be no blood or nutrients for the baby, and hence no baby. It's like the power cord on an appliance. When we are born, the baby can be "unplugged" and run on internal power.
