11alpha is out, dead-end technology; 54MBps wireless to a room distance.

11beta much longer, 11MBps goes to about 200m in open-space shortens quickly.

11gamma same as 11beta but speed goes 54MBps.

Alpha works on a 5GHz radio band, beta and gamma on 2.4GHz radio.

it depends google long distance wifi. with the correct directional antennas your can reach miles. yes miles. but if you just use the stock antenna 500 feet line of sight is probably max.

100m wide open but it is less indoors because of the obstructions.
