True. You need to know the principal parts of the verb in order to form their tenses.
Present=walk run
Past=walked ran
Past Participle=have/has/had walked have/has/had run
Present Participle= is walking is running

Not to be rude, but you're using antiquated grammar terminology. What do you mean by principal parts? Base forms? There are 12 tenses in English. What exactly do you want to know?

Do you mean base form, simple past and past participle?
