You are correct in thinking the Scary movie trilogy is not funny anymore. It would also be correct to think that the Scream movies are not good too.

Scary Movie 4 sucked eggs they should have left it at 3, which while weaker than the others, was still a reasonably good film, unlike the fourth which was god awful.

Tends to happen when Hollywood plays off the success of the first movie and start making waaay more sequels than necessary

They are not funny. They are stupid and each sequal is worse than the last. Someone else said they are disgusting. I agree. My husband thinks its hilarious.
