Don't worry about why they kick.....worry if the baby doesn't kick at all. That's a sign that you have a healthy baby growing inside you....it may be a bit uncomfortable, but you'll get used to it and will find yourself looking forward to that foot action. Sometimes, the baby is trying to find a comfortable position to rest in.......

Babies kick because that is the way that the muscles develop.
Later in pregnancy (like right toward the end) you won't feel so much kicking as wriggling around - there won't be much room left by then for the baby to do more than wiggle.

Well it's the stomach acid. You'd kick too.
Seriously, the baby is not in your stomach. It's in your "womb." They kick because they are moving around in the fluid and growing everyday in a very small space.

They kick because they are trying to get comfortable... just like at night when you lay down, you might move in a few positions to get comfortable.
