Where can i get codecs for quicktime player??

i am trying to play a movie file and it says that i need a codec!

That may depend on what kind of file you are trying to play. You can try the Http://www.quicktime.com
or http://developer.apple.com/cgi-bin/search.pl?q=codecs&site=default_collection

Or see if they have a different player for the file you are trying to play at http://www.download.com

if it is a .avi file, you probably need the divx converter codec. go to www.divx.com

if it is a .wmv file and you are on a mac, you will need the flip4mac converter codec at www.flip4mac.com

those are the major video formats out now. Hope this helps
