...even though he himself presents as very male/masculine and is usually assumed to be straight? I really dig fem boys and butch girls as well as TVTS persons. Though I very much find the traditional gender roles sexy too.

Typically, the term denotes gender identity and is NOT a sexual orientation. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genderqueer

I, however, personally believe that gender identity and sexuality are both interwoven and fluid. At least my own experience informs me of this.

During sexual activity, I enjoy at times to assume postures - such as receiving penetration, for example - which are strongly "identified" as confoming to a female gender role - and this regardless if my partner is male, female, pre-op/post-op transexual, transvestite or intersex. And at times I like to top.

Hope this gives some clarity.

I'd have to disagree with you mostly. Genderqueer, as you said, deals with someone's own sense of self. Their own gender. Sexual orientation does have some link to sexual preference, but I don't feel that the link is as strong as what you're presenting it as. If a man is playing catcher for someone, his sense of self is still male. He's merely enjoying the intimacy he's having with his partner and not taking on another gender role by recieving anal. Plus, there's more to a word than just the definition. The word genderqueer invokes thoughts about the individual's sense of self and not of their desired partner's anatomy.
