You may be aware of the 'Honest John' pages in the Daily Telegraph motoring supplement on Saturdays.
I have the latest edition of his book (2002-03) and there are no Lexus specialists listed in that. However, you might try his website www.honestjohn.co.uk
Another alternative may be to phone around some of the auto-electrical specialists.
DId you ask a Lexus dealer for a quote? It may be worth asking.....
Perhaps one of the smaller independent Toyota dealers may have knowledge of this. Try to find one who is NOT part of one of the dreadful 'major'groups.
Also, in the Autotrader magazine there are often a number of 'electronic dashboard specialists to be found - usually towards the back of the mag. I think many of these are merely 'clocking' merchants, but you may be lucky.
You say you are in the North East - try the North East Auto Trader. I am in Yorkshire, so if you do not have access to the Yorkshire Auto Trader, email me on X5576@aol.com and I will be happy to check it out for you.
I hope the financial shock is not TOO bad!

Lexus have an enviable reputation for reliability, but when they go wrong - and they do - the expense makes your eyes water, at least at dealer rates. Independent specialists exist, but they are few and far between. If you've found one in Notts, greet that as good news and make an appointment!

I would think there is a cracker mechanic who has that instrument cluster out. Toyota is almost the same. Seek and you shall find some little asian guy that speaks almost as fast as the british and he can do a bang up job. Driving to Texas is not a option!
