a tragedy of human loss and suffering that did not need to happen and could have been prevented if the parents opened their eyes and the teachers did what they were supposed before things got to the point they did, when your bullied and harassed to the point of murder dont tell me the teachers and parents did not see it they ignored the abuse physical and emotional until those boys snapped and felt they had nothing left to lose i feel for all the parents who lost their kids that day cause it started years before the day of tragedy

Well no matter who answers its going to be bias. People often say things when theyre joking around with thier little crowd that can be hurtful and harmful to others without a thought of what it does. I had heard that those two boys that did that shooting were harassed repeatedly for years, they ended up shooting themselves. Sounds like they couldnt let it go without some form of punishment, but they didnt feel they shouldve gotten in trouble for it. I honestly think that it was the fault of those that were attacked for fostering an environment that could create people that would randomly kill like that without remorse. It was my hope that people here would learn a valuable lesson about arrogance, but if anything theyre worse than ever.

I understand why they did it. I understand the pressures from the other kids that made them snap. It happens every day, in every school. It is just a matter of time before one of them does it again.

I also think it could be avoided. If the school districts would implemement things like "counseling" as a required course in high school, people as a whole would be less messed up.

Also, if parents would spend more time developing personal ethics with their kids, this wouldn't happen.

Education is key.

I wasn't there, but watched it unfold on the tube. It was sad and technically wasn't about the "educational system" it was more about the "social system" and emotions.

Schools already implement peer counseling. Although people are not psychic, if they witness students in dire need they should report it and not ignore it, otherwise it's up to the individual to seek out help.

It's a sobering reminder that, if you bully and push people around too much and, or too often--sooner or later the bullets will fly.

It shows the troubles of our education system where people feel alienated and take out their aggressions violently.
