I need help! When I had my son I was with my ex-boyfriend and even though he knew the possibility of it not being his child, he decided to sign all the paternity papers as well as the birth certificate. He took "care" of my son six months after that until we split. He then died of cancer this year. I need to know if I apply for social security for my son wil I have any problems being that we never established paternity?

when he signed that birth certificate he admitted to be being the father waived the right to paternity test.
you have no problem as lonf as he signed the birth certificate.

AS LONG AS HE SIGNED PATERNITY YOU SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS.

you might, but if he has sisters or brothers they can test them. but if he sign everything, don't voluntary offer information.
