No. Most Americans are 2 paychecks away from government subsidy. Then they are 6 months away from poverty. This of course defines poverty as one who cannot afford food, not one who can't afford that studio apartment.

Yes, missing a paycheck would do immense damage to the well-being of most Americans.

Or losing their job without restitution, or having an injury or illness... The government has not fulfilled the part of the social contract offering protection in return for our taxes and following their laws.

All I know is that with all of the tvs, stereo systems, cds and dvds, expensive clothing, tennis shoes, cable sports packages, money spent at the theater, and other forms of waste, to hear Americans complaining about high gas prices, health care from the government, blah blah blah.

Americans waste so much money on so much sh*t and then all they do is complain that they don't have enough money.

I don't own a television nor any of this other crap, and I don't spend any more on clothing than what is necessary to keep me clothed, nonetheless I have plenty of money to spend on food, fly fishing, golf, gas, etc. etc. etc.

Also, when I go to a restaurant American workers and producers get my money, but if I buy a $150 pair of Nike tennis shoes, the guy in Foot Locker gets his 7 bucks an hour, and the slave labor taiwanes dude gets his 3 cents an hour, and the Nike exec gets his thousand dollars an hour, and Lebron James get 50 million dollars, and isn't that just all great.

Many Americans seldom, if ever, pay off their credit card bills, and spend way beyond their means. Do you know what happens to somebody that lives that way and gets a pink slip?

They call it REALITY. And it leads to SUICIDE.
