Because the two professions give distinct (clear) impression of the respective essence of a man and a woman. However much women deny (through women's lib) it, men have been designed to be physically strong, thus according them the tendency to give protection; women have been created to give way to another life (through giving birth); that explains for their tendency to give care and nurture. This very distinction makes two opposite poles attract. Hence it is not the uniform that makes the two professions appealing but the distinct role it represents.
This refers to the tendency of man to seek for "something that they lack" in order for them to be complete.

I disagree with part of that statement...I have not heard of anything saying women are very attracted to men in police uniforms...but I have heard that women are attracted to firefighters, soldiers, etc...I think it's not just the uniform (well maybe for men it is) but also the status. Because think about it: if you know it is a nurse that turns some men on, and vice versa...so I dont really think it is about the uniform in particular, but about the status that comes with that uniform.

All to do with rescuing. A strong woman in the case of the female police officer (I like mine with brown, pony-tailed hair), and with the nurse it`s some tender-loving-care that they are after (and a nice body and big boobs under the uniform)

It is a basic caring instinct in us where from cave man days women looked after men nursed them etc... and men were strong and looked after women in a macho sort of way I guess plus pretty cool uniforms, ha! ha!

1. Authority and power.
2. Nurturing and soft hands.
Just a thought. Who says the post person doesnt look appealing to some? Have you not heard stories about a woman getting pregnant by the milkman?

that's a very good question. i think it has something to do with the calenders they put out with these hot, muscular men sweating in their policeman or firefighter's uniform and women in nurse's outfits that show their tooty. you hardly ever see a picture of a hot postman.

I don't know
but there was a fire where I work and one of the secretary's fancied a fireman ( any fireman )
so I choose one at random and asked if he wanted an early christmas present.
The secretary ran a mile.

I used to do a milk round at age 15 and often had woman opening doors with next to nothing on flirting with me. Now I so wish I'd taken advantage.
What was your question??

There're all authority figures in one form or another. Many people are attracted to authority.
