Well, they've tried to change the Constitution so why not try to get rid of the elections. It's not so far-fetched to think that the present adminstration would not try something like that to have ole GWB remain in power indefinitely. I think it would be illegal, but that never stopped anybody.......

This sounds totally paranoid but it isn't! In 2004, a hand picked Bush appointee, DeForest Soaries Jr., who is the chair of the new Federal Election Commission made a proposal to delay the 2004 elections in the event of a terrorist strike.

Mr. Tooo Sexy - it should piss off Conservatives too. Suspension of the Constitution has only happened once - under Lincoln during the Civil War - but even he didn't suspend elections.

WOW. This is unconstitutional, and all americans would lose what little trust we have left in our system if one corrupt branch of the government can do this. Things aren't BAD ENOUGH to cancel elections.

They are discussing it. Just like they explored how to delay or postpone the 2004 election.
But I think there's really not more than a 40% chance that they'd actually try to do it.

They might as well. The dems most popular candidate (Al Gore) can only raise 9% of the vote. The rest of those losers are substantially less popular.

It is paranoid - just like the Bush Team. I have heard that they were looking to change the constitution to allow him to continue in office, I think that it is all BUllSH**.
