Yes, but with reservations.

An elementary school student should not wear flip flops to school. At recess, they will have to run around, which is not good to do in flip flops. They could get injured.

Also, don't wear flip flops, or sandals, in science class when you are doing a lab, for obvious reasons. And if you are working with wood, or any art/crafts classes that uses glass or some other material that could wound you, don't wear flip flops. And don't ever try to wear them to P.E. class. They offer no support for your foot.

And don't wear flip flops if you are giving a presentation at school. They just don't look nice enough for you to do that.

But otherwise, wear flip flops if you wish.

Are you crazy? Flip flops are hazardous. They offer zero protection to your feet and remember, these are the only feet you'll ever have. Your feet will become flat and wide-ugly. Want to lose a toe? Wear flip flops. Want to look like a dork? Wear flip flops. Want to run and look like an idiot? Well, you get the idea--that is if you have half a brain.
I'll bet flip flop wearers are the same types who won't wear helmets on motor cycles. Go for it--if you're that foolish, you have no brains to get splattered across the highway, so why worry.

all these years flip flops were never worn to school. You need to wear good sturdy shoes for doing a lot of walking, to protect your arches, and to prevent from diseases like athletes foot, and for insurance purposes (if someone steps on your foot or you get a nail thru your flimsy flip flops then the school gets sued, that's why schools are now cracking down and demanding sensible clothing and shoes to be worn.

In addition, any kind of shoe that shows brightly colored wiggling toes in a classroom is very distracting, especially for young boys and men who normally think of sex every three minutes. Give everyone a chance to learn, and get their education in, you'll have time the rest of your life to attract the boys.

I don't see anything wrong with it.

The more and more the schools restrict what the kids can and can not do at school the less school feels like a place they want to go to thus there being more drop out and kids playing hooky 3 out 5 school days! As long as it does not interupt learning it should be allowed. Only reason I could see it not being allowed would be in a science lab where chemicals are being used and you need something more protective covering your feet.

No, they are too loud and distracting. Also, they expose practically the entire foot. This probably isn't too big of a deal for older kids, but little ones can cut their feet easily. Also, flip flops are meant for the beach. School should be a place where kids dress at least somewhat respectfully.---Although in most places today's dress code is pretty sad.

No I don't think that kids should where flip flops to school because it is putting their feet in danger. And alot of things can happen that wouldn't happen if they wear toe covered shoe's

No...they are a hazard because they can fall off when a child is going up or down the steps, not to mention how inappropriate they'd be for recess. Plus, their feet are exposed to all kinds of funk that other kids bring with them. I have seen firsthand that flip flops are not safe and they are not permitted where I work.

Actually, just recently at my school, they banned flip-flops; that made a lot of people mad, and I can't say I blame them. Flip-flops can be a very comfy shoe when worn in the right occasion.

Yes. I just graduated from a high school that allowed it. I went there for two years and wearing sandals and flops were never a problem. Though I went to school before that that didn't allow them. It was seen as a fire hazard. But if your dumb enough to run in shoes you can't run in then you deserve to get ran over. Plus no one should be running when there is a fire. I thought that rule was so dumb.

Flip flops are just shoes. Although they have a higher infection risk rate, kids hould have a choice wear what ever the hell they want
