Yes, it was the right thing to do.
Children have to learn, sooner or later,
that animals suffer too. And it sometimes
is better to kill the the animal humanly
than to let it suffer.
Children are not insensitive - they understand
a lot more than we give them credit for.
I'll bet that child learned a lot more from your
action that day than anything he/she could have learned
in school.
You seem to be a very down to earth guy -
read your "About me" story.

Hi.
Don't beat yourself up about this unfortunate incident. The suffering of an animal that is on the verge of death, should be stopped right away. You did the right thing. I don't think I would have had the balls to do it (I couldn't have the balls anyway cause I'm a chick), but I say Thank you for caring enough and having a heart. If you had to do it in front of a little one, then you had to. I just hope that you explained the reason why to the kid.

As far as your grammer goes, those english teachers can kiss your @SS , cause if it was that bad, then they should help u out.
take care

It's no better than euthanasia which is to say that it is a great idea! Euthanasia helps to stop suffering. Unfortunately at this time, bad laws keep us not only from terminating sick and suffering people, but others as well. Obviously there are a lot of people who make US suffer and there's nothing we can do about it.

I totally agree with you. There was no way I would have left it there to suffer and die. A bullet to the head is alot more humane that allowing it to hurt till it died. A bullet is quick. Although I prolly wouldnt have done it in front of the child.

To me that was a human act, the people driving by not giving a shitt about an animal suffering are the ones who are inhumane.and as far as doing it in front of a child , ithink that kid learned something good about humanity that day.

I don't know why because you did the right thing. I hate to see animals suffering. Maybe not in front of a child but the poor thing had been in agony.

I agree with you--the goat had to be put down. As long as the child knew the goat was suffering then he/she will know it was best for the goat.
