You probably want to look for another punishment. If anyone hears that you hit/spank your child, you can be reported to social services. I've had to report such a case as the child was severely disturbed. I'm sure there was another cause for the child being so disturbed, but the mother slapped the child in public and that is what social services used to look into the case.
Teachers have to report potential cases of child abuse and if you child exaggerates, you could have a problem on your hand. My nanny lead my son to the front door by his shoulders and he said he was strangled. I knew both of them well enough to know it wasn't true but his father tried to make a big deal of it when he took me to court for custody. Fortunately, I won custody, but that's not to say that spanking/slapping/hitting won't work against someone else up against a spouse that has decent qualities.

no because parents SHOULD know the difference between abuse and spanking. It is against the law to abuse your children, which is why it is required for all medical personnel to report suspected child abuse to the local authorities

I spank my toddler while she's doing some thing which will injury herself or others...comparable using fact the way i grew to become into raised. you're suited approximately little ones being greater respectful "back while" yet in my view, i think of it has lots to do with little ones not getting adequate interest from their mum and dad, era, not purely self-discipline strategies. greater like loss of *any* direction or barriers. i could desire to pass on and on with this subject remember....yet I won't. ;)
