The All Star Resort, like all of the Disney Resorts, is a fun and nice place. It isn't a 4 star hotel like say the Grand Floridian, but it is still a Disney Resort and therefore, they keep it to Disney Standards. The only thing I didn't like about the resort was that your door to your room is on the outside. This tends to allow more noise into your room from people walking past your doorway or from people outside in the pools or running around. But also keep in mind: how much time will you actually be in your room? Odds are, you'll be out and about playing in Florida's sunshine that it won't bother you a bit and you'll fall asleep without any problems.
Because the All Star is Disney's Value Resort, you will find that most people with kids stay here. So if you want to avoid a lot of kids, I recommend staying somewhere other than the All Star Resort. On an upside, the All Star Music has the coolest pool in all of the All Star Hotels! The Calypso Pool! There you will find clean towels whenever you need them, Disney's 3 Amigos perched in the center of the pool squirting water out of their squirt guns, and a shaved ice stand right next to the pool.

All star is OK, I would recommend the new Pop century. It is the newest of the Value resorts. All star is a nice place, Ive stayed there once, I know it has a big pool and game area. It is the oldest of the value resorts so it may be "warn" but it is still taken care of and clean. Disney sets a high presentation standard so none of the resorts are "bad". I was just at the Pop resort and it is very clean, big pools, huge food court with a variety of food, and a nice game room. Remember any Disney resort is a good resort!! Disney treats all guest with respect and keeps all rooms and resorts and parks clean!!! HAVE FUN

It's a budget hotel. It is not the oldest but the newest one is Pop.
It has a good food court and you can buy the cup to get refills for the whole lenght of your stay.
Always check on the gift shop first to see if they sell some food items there that you might have and it's usually cheaper (ie. we used to eat bagels in the morning and they were 3 a piece and we found a bag of bagel in the gift shop for 4 dollars and we used to get the cream cheese and the butter from the free area at the dining area)
Is not luxurious but it's nice. It is convenient since you have the Disney transportation and they benefits of staying within the WDW Resort.
I loved it and would go back... those value resorts where my first choice when I went there 2 weeks ago.

I stayed at the Pop Century last year, and am going to All Star Movies this year. From what I hear, the value resorts are pretty similar. So, judging from Pop, I would say it is ok.

It is actually a personal choice. We view the resort as just a place to sleep, shower, and store our clothes, so we don't like to "splurge" on the pricier resorts. We spend most of our time in the parks.

If I were planning to spend more time just hanging out at the resort, relaxing by the pool, etc, I would choose a higher priced resort. (we usually go in the pool at the value resort, too, but just for a quick swim)

hi, i know this isn't a direct answer to your question, but i hope this helps:
i looked up the ratings online about a month or so ago and it's anywhere from a 3 and a half to a 4 and a half of 5 depending on who you talk to. based on value, cleanliness, etc.
i just booked a disney vacation for june 2007 for my family (husband, two young daughters, three friends, and myself) and my AAA travel agent told me the most popular of all of the value resorts is the All Stars Movies. She also told me the value resorts are all the same price. i did look these resorts up online and none is lavish (or it wouldn't be a value resort). for our 2006 vacation, we stayed we stayed at a deluxe and it was awesome. we stayed at the animal kingdom lodge. you will be so tired from all the walking and talking and riding as long as the place is clean it will be fine. a value resort is just that: VALUE.
i highly suggest adding the "magic your way WITH dining" because we saved a fortune. it's quite expensive there. we were so glad we got the dining plan. and as far as the park hopper, we didn't bother with that, it was enough to be in one park with the kids let alone go to numerous parks in the day. if you plan to fly , use disney 's magical express, it's FREE. have a great trip!

If the price looks right then it is for you.
The all star resorts are budget motel style buildings with pools and not much else.
If you can afford more, you might look at the grand floridian.
But this year I did 3 days at Disney and 3 at Universal Orlando. Universal kicked disney's but.
We stayed at the Portofino in Universal and were treated like kings and never waited on a line.
We stayed at the Disney Contemporary, and it was only OK.

It is a budget hotel and for the low price you get a lot of great features. The pools are really nice, transportation to and from the parks is free, you get to participate in Extra Magic Hours, and the rooms are great too. An interesting feature of the rooms is that on the curtains they have music written out. In the room I stayed in it was the music to "Zip A Dee Do Da". Many guests don't even use all of the features of their hotels because they are in the parks all day and night so the budget hotels are great!

The waits are not particularly long, yet are often somewhat longer than at different hotels. on the top of the night, the All-action picture star buses come extra often than many of the others nevertheless, so as that eliminates a number of that difficulty. you're probably to stand extra worry being picked up at your hotel, if there is not plenty area left. yet i think of activities is often the 1st p.c..-up end, so which you likely won't have worry.
