All right, I vaguely remember this movie. A small boy has a dysfunctional family, but he really loves his friend's mom, becuase she's nice to him and makes him sweaters. At one point, he is at the friend's house and wants to stay over, but the friend's mom(let's call her Linda) says she wants the boy to call home. The boy says his parents won't care, but she wants him to do it anyway. Later on, he is playing baseball, but gets two strikes. On the third try, he finally hits it, but the baseball hits Linda in the head and kills her. At the end, he and some classmates are on a school bus (I think during the winter) and the driver loses control, sending them down a hill and into a river. Everyone gets out except the boy and a girl he likes, so he saves her and helps her get out. Becuase of this, he can't get himself out. Somehow he is saved and the girl visits him in the hospital. They talk for a little bit, but finally, he dies from the cold.

The movie is Simon Birch.
Simon Birch is an amazing, touching and emotional drama about 12 year old Simon Birch, a small boy who can't grow and believes he has a destiny. The movie is one of the most amazing movies I have ever seen. It's a very well made movie and VERY sad, especially the ending which had me in tears. There were even a couple of funny bits here too, like the scene at the school play. Simon Birch is played brilliantly by the amazing Ian Michael Smith who gives a fantastic and touching performance. I REALLY hope to see more of him in the future. Joseph Mazzello also gives a great performance as Simon's best friend, Joe Wenteworth. Oliver Platt is also really good here too as Ben Goodrich. Like I've already said Simon Brich is a brilliant movie and should be watched by everyone of all ages as it's really amazing.

yeah, it's Simon Birch and Jim Carrey portrays the adult friend of Simon. a very touching story about love, friendship, bravery. Simon has an amazing attitude towards life. good movie, really.

Simon Birch - or Simon Berch. Great movie, very very sad though.
