When I click on the box, my computer crashes. What the heck do I need to do to fix this?

This errors sounds like a memory problem. I would suggest you to replace RAM.

You need to give more information what Operating system you are using and what program you are using when you get that error. System restore as one of the people suggested is a good option just make sure you back up your data when you do that. You are not supposed to lose data in the system restore in windows but it is better to be safe.

Restore to ealier date. update antivirus.
