Is that western cuisine cooking chinese/japanese? Heck, it's all oriental in North America. My preference is for the Japanese traditional foods. Less sugar and more clean tasting.

Japanese food tends to be a little bit lighter...are you up for a really heavy meal that fills you up or something a bit lighter?
Or maybe seafood (Japanese) vs. Chicken or beef (mostly Chinese)?
Sushi or Eggrolls?
General Tso's or Teriyaki?
Lo Mein or Ramen?
Steamed rice or fried rice?
Hope that helps!

Chinese if you want a big and cheap portion. Japanese if you want a quieter environment with an expensive bill.

Japanese.
Japanese is much more expensive, but I like it as a treat. I like the complexity of it. The broths in their soups are clearer and brighter tasting. They offer a much wider variety of noodles. And they completely trim meat of any skin, bones, fat and gristle. And the rice isn't just a big glop of paste.
It's Friday night. You've got a 3 day weekend ahead of you. Celebrate! Spend a little more. Enjoy the meal. And kick back this weekend.
