I have never heard that.
Things that cause infections:
1. Unprotected sex = STD infection
2. Poor Hygiene (Not wiping front to back)
3. Antibiotics = Yeast infections in some people
4. Not enough fluids = Bladder infections in some people
5. Shaving bikini area & not exfoliating = Ingrown hair infections
6. Using food items sexually down there = Duh, bad idea
7. Damp bathing suit all day = chaffing & possible infection
8. Sitting on area with crabs = you get crabs
When you buy any kind of underwear always wash it before you wear it, just incase someone with an infection tried it on, or it was a sneaky return.
In theory that could can an infection, but that is the only thing I can think of.
Good Luck.

no matter what anyone says...thongs can cause infection no matter how well you tend to it. The sweat from your anus...and everyone does...gets into the genital area and can cause infections....When you use the bathroom...you will move the thong out of it's resting place and when you slide them up...you must adjust hem back into proper fitting mode...which lets the up the butt part slide over and around the genitals....so no matter what ...if it never happened before..there wouldn't be an issues....try boy shorts...they are so sweet and cute....and still sexy...most guys I have heard likes the boy shorts...they give more of a mystery of whats under neath....

Thongs can cause infections if they are not changed everyday and washed properly. As long as you change your underwear everyday and wash them with laundry soap you should be fine.

Ask a doctor and find out for yourself.................just think about the entire issue ..................there's a string riding along your private area - this just isn't the most sterile place on a woman's body. If you can't picture the problem then go ahead and wear one - once you get an infection - then you'll understand.

when they rub from back to front they bring bacteria that will give you a vaginal or urinary infection that's hard to get rid of. There's no way you can wear the thong to prevent that.

Yes it is true, but if you keep yourself clean everyday it is just like underwear. They are the most comfortable things if you give yourself time to get used to it. good luck.
