you know, you have a point. I work in a clinc that is specifically designed for the poor. I am rather amazed at the amount of people who are receiving public assistance, and even more amazed the medicare benefits they receive. Clearly these people have not been in this country long enough to pay taxes, and pay into this system that now supports them. However, I do have to say, I don't see many Mexicans, so I would not pin an ethnic to it as a lot of immigrants have figured out the system of things. What really grinds me is, other Countries don't take care of their citizens like the US, that is why they are coming here, for money/education and no other reason. They do not bother to learn American English, yet they complain about the religion and politics of the US. I do have to say America is extremely generous, and extremely tolerant. While more Americans are losing jobs, again not because of Mexicans, I see more immigrants then just one ethnic... I think due to Global Economy, and outsourcing. More people are using our tax based programs that have not lived here long enough to pay into it, and those that have been born and raised here, and worked, the well is running dry. I think this problem is critical. It is definitely another system that is in huge need of reform. I hope other countries stop spending on defense and more on their own people's needs to make them competitive in the world, and stop relying on the US.
