ah let see ;

{ i think u mean 3x . or may be x^3 , but dont u worry i would tell you both of them }

f(2) means just put ' 2" in the f(x)=3x instead of x

first;
if you mean f(x) = x^3
if x = 2 so f(2) = (2^3) = 8
(x^3 - 8) = =( x^2 +2x +4)(x-2)
so;
[f(x) - f(2)]/(x - 2) = (x^3 - 8) /(x-2) =( x^2 +2x +4)(x-2) / (x-2)
you can remover ' x-2 ' so we have
[f(x) - f(2)]/(x - 2) =x^2 +2x +4

second;
f(2) means just put ' 2" in the f(x)=3x instead of x ;like that ;
if x = 2 so f(x) = 3*2 = 6

now put them in the main formula ;
3x - 6 / x-2 ; here you can factor ' 3 ', so we have ;
3(x-2( / (x-2) , now you can remove ' x-2 ' in the fraction ;
therefor ;
[f(x) - f(2)]/(x - 2) = 3

good luck & good question.

No, it's not right
the right answer is x^2+2x+4

no

f(x) = 3x
f(3) = 6
(3x-6)/(x-2)=3(x-2)/(x-2) = 3

[f(x) - f(2)] / (x - 2)

[x^3 - (2)^3 ] / (x - 2)

= (x^3 - 8) / (x - 2)
