check with your police usually they have a database or somethign for all their nationals im sure. if its just a rumour it could be even worse that you thought. the world is not a safe palce to be any more you might be fooled yet something serious has happend to her so dont despare yet your police is the first stop if they dont have any records i think its worth to report her missing to get information from people. if police are involved obvious they can find out were she is by consulting different departure points to see where she went from there you get to know which country she is in them you go to the countryy and consult the authority responsible. especuially if she used an airport she will be traced quick or even if she used her passport the easier it is so dont despair. drug related offences may be more serious than you think that how some people are murdered and all.maybe the rumors are a cover up but im not sayign the worst hs happened but the police will help im positive

the home office, under date protection with out her consent they may not give you this info, but that's the best bet, local probation cannot tell you anything again unless they have her permission, that's if you are in UK, Police would not know what jail or if they did they should not tell you, again data protection.. and no the prison don't notify next of kin... the best offer is from that chap fortuitous7777 who says he could do a search for you, if you cant get any joy from home office..

I guess you are not serious, because if this would be the case, the authorities would contact next of kin, she has a right to make a phone call have legal council..... I think the person who told you is on drugs too....but on a more serious note: If she is missing - did you and the extended family report a missing person?

Who has told you this? You would have been contacted by the appropriate authorites by now. Contact the police and file a missing persons report.

The one obvious thing that I didn't notice any of the previous answers suggest is to try to back-track the rumor. Go to the person you heard it from, find out who told them and so on.

Try The British Embassey. If she is a Briish Citizen and this is true then they should have been informed, and if they haven't then they should look into it for you.

If not British, try your countries embassey.

Also, possibley Interpol.

Wouldn't bother. If any of my family traffiking drugs I would disown them - deserve to be hung.

You might want to try getting the press involved. I know you probably want to keep it private, but nobody will dig as deep as an investigative reporter.
