I want to pay cash for my education, I hate the thought of Years of repaying student loans. I would like to attend an Historically Black College, Not sure which one, maybe GA Tech. I know about the various scholarships but I'm pretty sure I'll have to come out of pocket for most of my expenses.....So if there is anyone putting themselves through school....what are your expenses like ? Tuition, books, living....?

It really depends on the school that you attend. Some schools cost $20,000 a semester while others can be under $5,000 for tuition. Living in a dorm of course adds to that.
The amount for books vary. For example nursing books cost much more than say Spanish books. You can expect to spend about $200.00 a semester on books; maybe a little more or a little less. Buying your books at amazon.com can help cut down the cost.
Contact the school you are interested in to find out their tuition prices. Often you can find them on a web site.

First, don't totally rule out loans. As much as I hate mine, they give you a tax break and they will boost your credit. Paying cash for everything will give you a low credit rating.
Second, Georgia Tech isn't historically black, you may be thinking of Morehouse University which is also in the Atlanta, GA area. I put a website below that lists the black universities in the country.
Third, the cost of school can vary greatly. Staying in state and going to a public school is usually the cheapest option. Another thing to consider is going to a less expensive/well known school for the first two years and transferring after that. If you are from Georgia and you have a 3.0 GPA you can get the Hope scholarship. Also, costs can vary by major. As an engineer, I paid a lot more than a psychology major would. Consider buying your textbooks online and used for a cheaper price. If possible, it is usually cheaper to live off campus with someone else. There are several websites that give good budgets so I'd suggest googling it.
Finally, you can also work and go to school part-time so you can spend your wages on school and that would be another way to pay it off as you go.

Good luck!

I would say that staying in state is your best bet. I pay about 13,000 for a year and that pays for books, housing (dorms), food, and tuition.

You should probably budget $50,000 if you're going in-state, and at least $100,000 if you're going out of state.
