I DONT THINK SO.
THEY ARE LIKE LION AT ITS DEN.
THEIR AWAY TRACK RECORD IS NOT SO IMPRESSIVE.
THEY CAN PROGRESS UPTO QUARTER-FINAL IF ANY.

While Sri Lanka is no doubt a good side, whagt matters is consisgtent performance. Though they have been consistent in the recent past considering the potentials of other teams in the campionship and also considering the fact that only Australia has been maintaining their consistency, I do think Sri Lanka can win the Word Cup 2007

I think either under Atapattu or Jayawardene as captain, Sri Lanka have a strong chance.
They have a great batting line up, with either two of Jayasuriya, Atapattu or Tharanga opening. Then add the strength of Sangakkara and Jayawardene with the middle order of Kapugedera and Dilshan.
Their bowling stocks are quite strong, where their lower order can also contribute with the bat.
So I'd rate them in the top 3 or 4 chances. Definite semi finalist, possible finalist or winner.

its hard to make a prediction that SL will win the 2007 WC judging only based on the performance on last matches. Mahela J is a good captain but it depends on the team work. Im not saying that they cant win the 2007WC but they have to face fiase competition with AUS and End. and Pakistan.

my dear,
i would like to say that mahela jayawardene will captain Sri Lanka in the Champions Trophy even though Marvan Atapattu is fit becuase he has mention in his captaincy that he may be a good captain.Jayawardene is a highly effective performer in one-day cricket with the ability to suit the tempo of his innings to the demands of any situation. i can't say now that srilanka will be able to win in 2007 world cup under mahela but the sprit of mahela as captain is showing that he may be a good captain.

Chances are not nill coz WI turf supports Fast Bowlers and Spinners not medium bowlers and batshmen should be capable to bat against pace bowlers (SL batshmen loves to bat for pace bowlers) therefore since Sri Lanka have young guns like Lasith and spin wizard Murali, they have strong hold...
All i can predict is upto Semi Finals and there going to be four teams which will will strongly compete for this and for sure Australia is on the TOP OF THE TABLE but WI pitches are most likely to support fast bowlers and ofcoz Spin would do its magic against english teams therefore Pakistan and Sri Lanka have strong hold in the asians teams coz Indian team doesnt have good pace bowlers who could bowl in the WI turf and batsman are not really doing good against Pace bowlers...And the fourth team would be either South Africa or India...

i agree but its a matter of time, fate and nerves.
one who has supreme control over these , will take the world cup.
because the first 8 icc teams have few difference between them,( sri lanka is no exception)

Yes, they may win as Jayawardene is a good captian as well as a good batsman as far as concerned.
