Also, i'd prefer a website with music that has a friendly license such as Creative Commons. I am really fed up with the majors...

there is purevolume.com you can listen to music but you aren't allowed to download anything for free. My new favorite band is head automatica I saw them last night they were incredibly entertaining and just as good as the cd if you are into bobbing your head listening to music.
