because the rich tend to make good money decisions and the poor still make bad decisions

Chiefly because the poor are that way for a reason: Lack of initiative, ignoring education, not working hard, and blowing money on stupid stuff.

Seriously, I did marketing research for cable and telephone companies to determine who would buy all those extra features such as call waiting, three-way calling, voicemail, etc. etc. etc.

Want to guess who bought those services? People with the lowest household income. Meanwhle, those with the highest household incomes were the very least likely to buy those services at all. They might buy voicemail and basic cable services, but that was it. Instead, those with high household incomes tended to look very analytically at costs to determine whether something was a good buy or not, and even then were very careful. Meanwhile, poorer households were indiscriminate buyers willing to buy on credit without thought as to whether they could afford the monthly payments or not.

In fact, look at just about any major discretionary purchase, such as big screen TVs, rims on cars, grills on teeth, and you'll see a disproportionate expenditure among those wth the lowest household incomes.

And, what's more, you'll see that poverty in this country is closely tied to poor choices: Not taking education seriously, having children too early, not being in a stable marriage in which to bring children, not saving money. The list goes on and on.

Meanwhile, if you study the patterns of people who have multigenerational wealth, you'll realize that they aren't the ones who drive flashy cars and have huge houses. In fact, people with lots of wealth are more likely to drive more modest cars than the nouveau riche.

In a word; Human Nature.

B/c, in life, there are those who do things and those who want things, do-ers make it their business to learn or know what things are wanted. Then, using their money and resources, they make these things available for the wanters. The wanters don't have anything except money, yet feel a need to satisfy their want, and so buy from the makers and do-ers. Simple.

So long as ppl are willing to want and others are willing to do, it'll keep going in the precise direction it's going now. The rich will continue to get rich while the poor shall remain so. Life!

Because the poor are mostly uneducated and have stinky jobs and they are doing their best to make it and the rich have more opportunities in life.

Not always, but the equalizer in life to help the poor is EDUCATION. The problem is that many of today's poor have priorities elsewhere. Education is not easy, so they look for quicker answers elsewhere, and there are no quick answers.

Because it takes money to make money.

The rich have it. The poor don't.

Because the rich continue to defraud the poor, either directly or indirectly. Cash is addictive, and they usually don't like to share their "fix".

The richer you are the easier it is to hire brilliant accountants, and the more varied the ways to avoid tax! The Rolling Stones made 80million pounds last year and paid 1million in tax, meanwhile I bust my gut teaching and they take over a third of my wages. !!**::!!***... bitter...!!!!##...twisted...***!!..aarrgggh..**!
