Get a divorce already...
This should be the easiest divorce in history..
Probably get the paperwork on the internet, both sign papers , get some judge to co-sign and file them with the courthouse...

You need to find your local family court, and check out the resources they have available. Family courts in most major cities have self-help centers for people who need to represent themselves in court, including instructions on all the forms and procedures, and sometimes a free counselor to advise you as well. Or, if you can afford to pay a little bit, contact your nearest local (city level) Bar Association. Most of them have referral services that will hook you up with a newer lawyer who is just getting started, and therefore still charging relatively low fees.

Mmmmm...tough situation...and I can relate!!! Maybe..since, you have both moved on and you do communicate...express your concerns to your wife (or soon to be X-wife) and tell her that her new relationship and yours will move forward better once this is finalized. Maybe ask her to save money..you save money and split the cost? Maybe shop around for an attorney who is economical...maybe borrow the money from a friend..thus you will not have to repay interest..maybe sell something...maybe get a 2nd part-time job..to generate cash enough to pay for this...many options you have my friend...and best luck to you!

Talk to someone at Legal Aid for advice. If it is a cooperative divorce, there should be no problems. Just do it.

I think you can actually buy one of those divorce packets at walmart! You just pay the court costs.
