Will Texas ever live down it's connection to George W. Bush? I wonder. The state seems dominated by unthinking pseudo-patriots. There are probably some great people living there.( I hear Austin is a pocket of culture.) But otherwise a Wonder bread wasteland.

i live in texas houston to be exact, and people think were all country and have hillbilly accents. but they're wrong! we are just as normal as any other state and we dont have accents! texas is also very safe, the only thing we get over here is a light tornado, and a rare apearance of a hurricane.

Well, I have never been to Texas, but I think that it has to be good since it's good enough to be 1 out of 50 states.

i am from Houston, Texas and so far i think that it's a great state to live in. their are many places to go to that you wouldn't even know how many places that are in here. that's why i could say that everything is better in Texas. many portray us as cowboys and cowgirls but its not like that because everybody is diffrent. i have so much texas pride. i could say that im a proud texan.

Lived in Austin for about nine months, loved it.

Gas price was darn cheap, lots of great places to eat and drink. Lots of cities with in 2-3 hour drive from each other for shopping and visiting.

Keep away from the highways if it snows. Nobody there knows how to drive in the snow. and the cities have one snow plow [I think], that they keep in the museum for their children to see.

It snowed on I 35 once like half an inch and there were a thousand car pileup [while I was there]. Well it is kind of funny if you went to school in upstate NY.

Don't like the by-products (Bush family), big hair or the good 'ole boy attitude. The people have a self righteous attitude (I have been to Dallas twice-not friendly people to someone that doesn't look like they just came from some twisted beauty pageant, except for the 2 democrats I met in an elevator).

I know some nice people from Texas. I met them on the internet and they sent me a Christmas card, which was nice.

So I suppose Texas is okay with me.

I have a friend who lives in Houston. I've been to San Antonio and it was a pretty city. I'm not a huge fan of the state, though.
