ashamed to admit it but I voted republican, not lately but the Democrates kept advocating free abortion for anybody and I find that just a morally degrading attitude. Now that grand oil party has done all they can on the abortion front so I gotta ask the same question, certainly nobody in their right mind cares if gays get some kind of union with all the tax break advantages etc. they think would be fair, and those guys really support corporations who do a lot of damage. If you are extremely rich and have no sense of social responsibility then I guess voting R is the way to go.

The real question is, why not? It doesn't take being in one's right mind to vote for a candidate for a position.
I don't know about anyone else, but my voting record is all over the place. I've voted for some Democrats (Adam Smith for Congress in Washington State), Independent, and Republican.
I vote for the candidate, not the party. I couldn't care less what the person's party is. I recognize that if a person will be good for a position, I should vote for them, especially if I agree with their platform.
Why should party lines continue to matter?

What kind of question is that?? I'm a Democrat but have no problem with people voting however way they wish. I'm sure you'll have Republicans who'll ask the same of voting Democrat. That's what's great about this country, we're free to vote for whomever we want to. There's good & bad of ALL parties.....

I'd vote for McCain, Nixon, Bush seinor, or Bloomberg.

Just not George Bush. Do not let him describe the republican party. There are still those inside who are very responsible and good leaders.

Nobody in their right mind will vote Republican in 2008.

Or rather, anybody who votes Republican in 2008 is not in their right mind.

Maybe people would vote Republican if:

1. They are against the killing of unborn babies.
2. They don't want to surrender our country to a bunch of bully terrorist.
3. They don't want to be in the same party that has Hillary Clinton.
4. They resent the fact the the party deserted Joe Lieberman.
5. The are tired of the negative approach the party takes of American.
6. They are tired of all the illegals on Welfare.
7. They are tired of paying the way for people who don't want to work.
8. They are tired of people telling them that the government can always do it better.
9. They are tired of politicians who trash talk our troops.
10. They are tired of politicians who think its more important to try and gain political power than trash the President during a time of war.

I don't know, why would you think people would want to vote Republican?

The reason I vote Republican is because they are fair. They take out the taxes that SHOULD come out of our checks. I do good in taking care of my own.

The Democrats always seem to help the poorer people by taking more out of our checks.

I just think it should be fair is all.
