Nop.
x^3 - x^2 – 4x + 4 =
x ( x^2 - 4 ) – ( x^2 – 4 ) =
( x^2 – 4 ) ( x – 1) =
(x + 2 )( x – 2 )( x - 1)
x = -2, +2, +1

Yes.

1-1-4+4=0
0=0

(-2)^3-(-2)^2-4*(-2)+4=0
-8-4+8+4=0
0=0

+2 works also
2^3-2^2-4*2+4=0
8-4-8+4=0
0=0
