BALLET pointe shoes. can you name all the materials used to make them and if they aren't common materials can you describe them or compare them to something that is known. thank you!

Despite all things you may have heard pointe shoes are not made of wood, concrete, leather, stone, or anything else like that. Pointe shoes are made of many layers of canvas and paper held together with a very strong glue. Pointe shoes are then baked. then covered in either satin or canvas to make them pretty.

I basically think a pointe shoe is made out of canvas and satin.I am a dancer,so take the
advice from me ,the smart,educated one!

I'm pretty sure that they are made of satin with some kind of leather lining. I also believe that the toe is or was reinforced with wood. I wonder why you are asking. Are you going to attempt to make a pair? That would be cool

It would be so interesting if someone has said, "I took my old shoe apart and this is what I discovered".
I took apart my old ballroom shoes. Yeah, I'm that curious, what can I do. I was surprised to find a lot of metal (shank).
If you wear out one pair, just cut it up and see.

They're made in leather or canvas versions. It's nice if they can be made instead of buying them at stores. Here's also some sewing techniques:

take it from a pointe dancer.pointe shoes are made of wood,and silk.but those things u can get to put in ur toes so they wont hurt from the wood dont really work so dont waste ur money on them.well i hope i helped!gtg to dance!

i believe they are made of leather and then are covered in satin. the toe box is made os strips of canvas glued together, thats wat i read at least.
