I had ants in my back yard when I saw they were biting my puppy i looked around and found their "hill" or home base and sprayed the hell out of it. I left it alone for a few hrs then i got a shovel turned their world upside down & sprayed the hell out of em again. I looked the next day...no ants. its been 3 months and there is not 1 ant to be found!

Preventative Ant Control

A clean house is the ant 's worst enemy. If you follow these steps, you will find less ants making your home theirs:

Dirty rooms attract ants. If you leave clothes lying around or objects on the floor, it gives ants a place to hide and more courage to migrate from one place to another in your home.

Ants come in through doorsills. and make sure your screen doors seal correctly when shut. Again, the chemicals in your everyday cleaning spray are considered quite unappealing to those six-legged heathens.

Vacuum or mop areas where you have found ants. You're probably finding ants in places where food as been dropped. Clean up that food and you will give ants one less reason to be there.

Food left on counters attracts sugar ants. Ants are attracted to the sugar in your foods. Keeping food in proper containers will descrease a scout's chances of catching the scent. Besides, leaving food out is what slobs do. You're not a slob, are you?

Take your trash out regularly. Keep your trash bins in a separate facility or far enough away from your house to keep ants from wandering indoors. Again, ants are attracted to the sugars in all of your foods.

Hope that helps.. GOODLUCK!

Naturally, ants hate ammonia. Try a mixture of 4:1, water to ammonia and pour on the ant pile.

If I get ants and I haven't had any since I used this product, I use Ant Rid. Ants find it irresistible and eat it and go back to their nest and spread it to the other ants and bingo all dead and gone.

Go to your nearest hardware store or home depot and let a clerk know of your problem and for them to recommend a good granulated ant killer, not in the form of spray of course, they will tell you what's best, I had that before and I purchased a product like that, it was strong and spread-ed out the grains and they were gone shortly after.

Spray them with a pesticide or insecticide. Do the whole area. We called an exterminator and got rid of the lady bugs and box elder bugs at the same time. He even spayed inside the house and put out rodent traps.

Boiling hot water first and then red cayenne pepper. But make sure you put traps down at all entrances so they don't try and get in the house too.
