In the womb all people begin as females until the separating chromosome sets it in motion to become a male or continue it's 'natural' course. They are not vestigial organs so to speak, a vestigial organ is an organ that has evolved over time to be useless to an organisms body and bodily functions but has not been eliminated by the evolutionary process yet. In a sense, they could be considered vestigial organs though technically they are the by-product of an incomplete development thwarted by a genetic aberration the 'G-Spot' does become the prostate and the nipples (to answer your question) lose their functionality and just stop developing detaching themselves from the would-be mammary glands that also cease development

Because men and women come from the same basic genetic material. About the only thing radically affected by the gender genes is the reproductive system (which ultimately makes sense). And even then there are a few similarities: the female clitoris is formed of tissue that would have become a glans on a male specimen. Ditto the male prostate and the female G-spot.

But y'know, we all have two arms, two legs, one nose, and all that other stuff...we also get to share having nipples.

They aren't completely useless. Can be sexually stimulating to pinch or lick or lightly bite them.

I think the real reason that men have nipples though is because women and men start out basiclly the same when we are maturing in the womb.

Every human embryo starts as a female. The male organs develop later if it's to be a male, but the already developed nipples stay although they do not grow into "breasts" upon puberty.

They're vestigial organs. Just like a woman's clitoris is a vestigial penis. During development, the male and female sex organs develop from the same original set of gonads. If the fetus is exposed to testosterone, the nipples stay tiny and withered.

Nipples are formed as common parts before the M&F sexes differentiate during fetal formation...

In the womb the female infant shape is the "blank" then the male bits "grow" from the female general design.

They may be useless to men, but I sure as hell love to pull and pinch them!!
I'd even love to pierce my man's just for the fun of it, but he says "no"
He has to go to sleep sometime.
