There is no single program you can use to protect your computer. Here is a list of what you need.

1. Firewall. XP (SP2) has a built in firewall. Zone Alarm is a free firewall and very good.

2. Anti-Virus program. Only use one AV program. AVG is very good and easy for inexperienced users to setup and use. Auto updates are free.

3. Anti-Spy programs: You need at least three. Windows Defender Beta 2, Very good., Spybot Search and Destroy, Very good, SpywareBlaster, Blocks any spyware that is in its program, update it manually.

Spybot must have the Tea Timer turned on to provide Active protection, otherwise it is only good for scanning and removing infections. The Tea Timer can be turned during the set up procedure. Watch for its listing and check the box.

All of the above are free and can be downloaded from one site. All are in the red boxes.

My security program comes from my Internet Provider. When I use other programs their email systems have their own security.

hi, that maybe a virus, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.

i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:
