Walking helps induce .... nipple stimulation and intercourse. Those should bring on labor faster. Those are all suggestions doctors make to women close to term.

Im in the same predicament as you. He's due September 13 and I want him here before the 10th, my grandparents are in town and I want him to meet his great grandparents when he arrives. So the doctor told me sex and nipple stimulation. Ive been trying and have noticed an increase in BH, which I guess is doing something. Who knows?? Ive also been doing spicy food and walking up and down stairs. Hopefully I'll have a baby within the week, but like a previous poster said, 1cm isn't much and we could be that way for another two weeks or go into labor tonight. Nothings certain. Good luck to you (and me :-) ).

All of the walking and spicy foods and pineapple and ginger, never worked for me.... If you are planning to breastfeed and already have a pump, Try pumping each breast for a couple of minutes, back and forth.... Seriously, Breast Stimulation releases something in your body. Also put a warm compress on your breast that you are not pumping. If you don't have a pump use your hands to massage, or have your partner do it. Check out some of the midwives sites too they have great ideas. But remember everybaby and woman is different. The baby wont come unless it's ready, but it won't hurt to encourage it. Good Luck.

Having sex is a great way to induce labor. I am a medic in the army and deal with pregancies every day. and if you dont want to do that, walking up and down stairs or 4-wheeling works too.
best of luck to you.

Walk, walk, then walk some more. Have sex...making sure both partners orgasm at the same time. Walk. The minute you stop caring when you have the baby is when the baby will come but trust me about walking.

Fill your tub with warm water, and sit in there for like 30 minutes every day before bedtime. That softens the cervix,so that you dilate faster. Worked for me. Good Luck!

I did a lot of walking the day before a delivered. It shoudn't hurt anything unless your Doctor has you on bedrest.
Hope everything goes well!

Having sex and eating spicy food afterwards was told by doctor to do. I did it and it worked for me. The spicy food will not harm the baby... good luck.

Get lots of rest before the big day. And yes, walking should definitely help.

walk, walk, walk. This helps a lot1 But, if you get tired...stop and stay hydrated. Listen to your body if it tells you to stop! Congrats, and don't rush it, when your baby is ready, he will let you know!!
