What is the method to send a broadcast msg to many people in one category (Friends) without typing the individual addresses each time I send or forward?

Also why does Yahoo categorize to Internet, but disallow the inquirer to add a subcategory: MESSAGING

Yahoo! Address Book and the address book found in Yahoo! Mail use the same underlying contact information. Therefore, you can access all of your contact information from either through your Yahoo! Mail account or directly through Yahoo! Address Book.

The Yahoo! Mail address book gives you more advanced mailing functionality while Yahoo! Address Book gives you the ability to manage and categorize your contacts, plus the ability to easily send client email.

When you save addresses to your address book, save them by groups and/or categories. That way, you only select a category and every body listed there gets the mail.

If they are all in your contact list, you should just have to click next to their names to add them to the 'To:' option.

Don't know about the friends Category, don't use Categories on my email.
