Ashley Cole wanted to move to Chelsea as he felt betrayed by the Arsenal Vice-Chairman David Dein.At a meeting between the two Dein gave his word to Ashley Cole that he could have £650000 a week but renaged on this deal as the Arsenal board would 'only' offer £60000.Feeling that he was worth much more than this,as at the time this incident occured Sol Campbell was still at the club and being paid £100,000 a week, Cole decided that the huge wages that Chelsea could offer were too good to turn down.

Money and tropheys. Because he has bit the hand that fed him and wanted more.
18 Months ago Chelsea tapped him up and Arsenal put a block on the move then as it was an illegal approach by Chelsea. Cole signed a new deal with Arsenal with an agreement that he had an option to leave. Cole believes arsenal went back on this and was desperate to leave.

He feels Arsenal turned their back on him after the tapping up incident, and that the club didn't honour the clause in his contract that states he could leave if a club offered 15million for him.
That's what he said it was. Just wait for his autobiography.

Okay. a lot of angry Arsenal fans said it was because of money. Sure, Arsenal was his childhood club, but he had problems at the club n wants to leave, and sees the opportunity that the Champions wants him. so, he joins em.

Cheers
