I have a few times, it was usually around 75 cents in change... I also once gave a homeless guy a taco. I was driving home, I had taco bell, I didn't really feel like eating the last one, and when I saw a guy walking along, asking for help, I rolled down the window and gave him the food. He gave me what sounded a very genuine thank you, and as I drove away, I could see he was already eating it.

If they are genuinely homeless, then yes. But they would not be sitting on the street begging for the true homeless are too proud, they would be wearing layers of clothes as protection from the weather and above all their shoes would be old, worn or even ill fitting. Their faces are weather worn and they walk along slowly as they have nowhere to go.
In our town - we have a number of beggars, they are regulars, they are all within the same age range, they are all very thin and have pale skin and very nervous eyes. They all wear almost new or new trainers. (they will change clothing, but never shoes)
they each have mobile phones to keep in touch with one another and some smoke openly. If you look around you will see someone hanging around nearby - this is their caretaker who changes the coins over for notes and keeps a look out for the police. Up until now - I have followed six of the beggars I see regularly - right up to their homes.

No. There's this park where I live where lots of homeless people live. If a homeless person asks for money we give them food like a meal from McDonalds or a bag of apples. Especially cux there's a soup kitchen right down the street. Who knows what they'd use the money for? Drugs or beer probably.

When I see a grown man with long hair, or someone who just doesnt care about themselves, or I see some black guy getting in people's faces - it pisses me off. I guarantee that they are all assholes, and not only do I prefer to say "no" to them, I usually walk across the street when I see them. Some of them make me raging mad because I don't like to be harrassed by dirty looking strangers that don't have any respect for themselves or other people. But are they a necessary evil? Maybe. When I was younger, I didnt feel like I fit in, and I needed these creatons to let me know that not everyone is perfect. The one time in the past year I helped a homeless person I really felt good doing it. It was a lady of an undetermined ethnicity, maybe part mexican, part black, she was in her 30's and she was extremely beautiful. She was sleeping outside a lot and she seemed like the type to keep to herself and not bother anyone. She said she wanted milk and I didnt want to say no and I didnt want to give her the money I had and I was pissed at society so i went into the CVS grabbed a bottle stuck it in my pocket, walked out, and gave it to her. Her eyes got real big and I laughed inside because it was funny. Also I know a guy on SSI that panhandled and made average of $120 a day, 7 days a week. I dont frown on benefits because I get them, but isn't that a bit extreme? I think it was a brilliantly executed plan and he wasnt bothering anyone because all he did was sit in a wheelchair, but why did he feign total helplessness and take advantage of individual people's generosity? If he does it, a million other people will copy and next thing you have is an epidemic. I want to sympathize, as does anyone who wants to be in good terms with their Savior, but sympathizing can be your destruction. Open your heart and it will be bled or poisoned to death.

i do not provide to human beings operating the streets. I have before, yet i began noticing that an same human beings were "operating" an same intersections with an same indications: "motor vehicle broke down, choose money to get homestead to California." And the "will artwork for nutrients" human beings extremely gained't, they're playing that good human beings will basically provide them money. My church provided a guy money if he ought to do somewhat backyard artwork at our church. He had one hundred clarification why he couldn't. of direction he nevertheless needed the money. No, i do not trust that is the authorities's position to guard the homeless. each and every time the authorities is in touch, it finally ends up being a huge snafu and is not in any respect truly-priced. i imagine households and church homes and the non-public sector could safeguard this. I continuously provide to the Salvation military and Feed the little ones, so i think comfortable with my charitable giving. most of the homeless in my neck of the woods are homeless because they prefer to be.

Once upon a time long long ago I gave a poor looking couple (looked more like drug or alcohol abusers) a couple dollars and my phone number as they had a sign up saying I will work for food. They never called. A friend told me they regularily stand out there because the woman is on welfare and wants money for extra curricular things. In California all the drunks pan handle and I do not work to pay for alcoholism. I usually carry food with me and give food to people who look sincere. Once I passed a man and right down from him was a car nicer than the one I owned I saw him one day get in and drive away in. If I see someone I speak with them if I have time, buy them food and or a drink if I have time. If they are sincere they will take the food and say thank you. Then I give them enough to call the Salvation Army or someone else. One man was working a contract dressed nicely on the street work clothing his boss got up early on pay day, paid the hotel room and left him there without his pay after talking him into going out of town to work a 9 day contract. I bought him something at Taco Bell where I stopped to get food and gave him a water and enough to call Salvation Army who will help him get a ticket home according to what I understand and have been told in such emergencies. I donate to legitimate charities and then let them figure out who is sincere now unless I know them personally. But I always give homeless people food when I see them but do not want to support their drug or alcohol problem. I have picked up a young couple with a dog once and taken them in because I knew they were sincere. In the morning we dropped them off on the freeway where they wanted to go.

If there was a homeless person on the side of the road begging for money for food, I would give them a meal ticket to a healthier fast food place or something that had no cash or pawn value, just in case they would otherwise spend it on drugs etc when I would actually have liked to just spend it on my family.

Warning: Beware of mysterious looking strangers begging for acorn handouts on street corners. Don't be fooled. They're not even human! No, they're actually just a dozen or so mischievous and very hungry squirrels operating the complex controls inside of a full-size, mechanical cyborg humanoid-bot. (Very lifelike, by the way, and available only through mail order.) So, whatever you do, don't give them any nuts! Or berries!!!... Those furry little culprits just don't deserve any this way...

I stopped doing this after I gave a homeless person a $100 bill one day and he just walked away barely saying thank you. Ever since that day I never give homeless people money. That was about 10 years ago...
