From one angle, in the earliest strips, if you look at the front of Charlie Brown's hair, it just appears to be the front lock followed by a head of hair behind it. But I think Schultz just went shorthand early on and when Charlie Brown became more popular, it looked like he was bald with a single string in front. He just liked the effect and never changed it.

Charlie Brown was WAYYYYYyyyyy ahead of his time. He was shaving his head 50 years before it became a fad. And he left one strand of hair as a fashion statement.

Poor Charlie Brown, according to Lucy, has always been a Blockhead. And blocks can't grow hair.

The reason he was drawn like that is because Charlie Brown is always worrying about stuff and that caused his hair not to grow.

Are you sure it's one hair? It looks like a few to me. But yes, maybe it's just one very long scribbly hair.

The artist was too lazy to draw more of them and realized he could get away with just one.
