when i try to turn it on it just clicks then i had someone give me cables then it would just do a rrrrrr sound and turned on once and then just give out

its your starter. If it was your alternator you should still be able to give it a jump start. I guess it could also be something like an airconditioner compressor that is locked up, if it is on the same belt, but i believe its probably your starter, or maybe your sparkplug cables or mixed up on the wrong plugs. If it was your battery, you should still be able to jump start it. Make sure you are using heavy duty jumper cables. Crappy jumper cables will only work on small vehicles.

Perhaps it is your starter? I had a starter go bad once. Or possibly if you tried to jump start it with cables, maybe it's your battery? Good Luck. I hate when something goes wrong with my Jeep

Your battery is dead
It's a bad battery or the alternator.
let the battery charge for a while the next time you put the cables on it

If your car will not start with a jump then probably your starter. If your car dies after running, then bad alternator.

Sounds to me like a dead battery. If yours is more than three years old, it should be replaced.

could be the starter, the starter solenoid or the voltage regulator.
