I've wondered the exact same thing for the past 5 years!! I mean, WHY do people continue to go gaga over it?? Like these people aren't getting big bucks or acting (very poorly I might add). I think it's cause the general public likes to hear the cursing/beeps & watching people "fight" and "cry" .... I believe we got Jerry Springer to thank for it. For the love of Gawd - Bring back sitcoms & give credit to people who have devoted years of their lives learning & studying the ART of acting and who've struggled to get into the biz!

I don't know if it's here to stay. Alot of the reality shows are really good. I think they'll be around for a long time.

I hope so... I love reality tv. Its great because it only lasts a few weeks.. you get to see just how far people will go for fame/money/popularity/self promotion. Its great :)

I've never been a fan of reality TV, too much like soap operas....
When I want to involved someone's "STUFF", I volunteer for work assisting the various relief and or volunteer groups.
Any other drama created by "GREED", "JEALEOUSY", "SELFISHNESS", "SELF PITY","COVETING", ETC are self inflected and don't deserve my attention.

I think it will - it's real people doing real things - well - reality I sure hope if hangs on because I love it!

low IQs. so they are never going away.
yet better shows get cancelled.
ex: invasion, alais, arrested development- canceled
dancing with the stars, simple life- renewed

I don't know but i dont like it! even american idol is way overrated after 4 or 5 seasons
