great idea, great to support british inventors who take on the big boys! ...but yeah, they're a little unreliable, amazing warranty department though, shows how it should be done

I have had a Dyson DC02 for about 8 years without any problems. Every now and then (should be every 6 months but time flies!) I wash the filter and leave it 24 hours to dry.

Very happy with it - had not needed to contact the Service Department or even think about having it serviced.

I have a Dyson vacuum cleaner (Hoover is a brand name). I have had this vacuum cleaner for 7 years with no problem. I wash the filters twice a year. I have telephoned their service department and received excellent help. I have not yet had my Dyson serviced but probably should have done.

Dyson is a nice vacuum, but way-way over priced, it should give you years of good service before anything major might happen. If your getting ready to purchase a new vacuum, just make sure it is at least 12 amp., also decide if you need an upright or canister type, for getting under furniture.

Dyson, probably as good as you can get, but haven't you yet discovered that nothing, absolutely nothing, lasts for too long and the reason for that is commercial because you'd only ever buy once.

Countless times I have had electric and electronic goods go wrong a week or two after the guarantee runs out and on dismantling the item myself I have found a deliberately installed piece thats life is only as long as the guarantee - its a normal commercial practice in this throw away and wastage world we live in.

We've had a Dyson Animal since May, 2003. Never had any problems with it and it works as well today as it did new out of the box.

I have a dyson animal, to vacuum up dog fur, one of the most damning things for vacuum cleaners. It's been a year and a half, and I've never had a clog, breakdown, or reduction in performance, I don't expect to have one, either.

I had a dyson. Stopped working recently so now I think I'll just get myself a Henry. Cheap and cheerful!

I have had several dysons and they are brilliant hoovers but all mine have needed repairing at one point or another. Just make sure you take out an extended warranty when you buy them... they are well worth it then! x
