Love is what you put into it and what you get out of it. Its a partnership both parties most be willing to give all they have for each other. If neither of you aren't willing to do that the it is not real love.

Both. It's what both partners put into it. If they like what they're getting out of it, the relationship has a high chance of not souring.

it is both... you put lots of care, affection to people and everything around you, and things that you sacrifice "out of love"... and what you get is the satisfaction of knowing you did it because you want to and sometimes you did something because you needed to (sacrifices).... you put love into it and sometimes the question what did i get out of it?... heartaches maybe but think about it you learned from it you grow from it. it is not just the positive in the "given love". it is everything that we are giving and taking(positive and negative)

False dichotomy. It is both what you put into it and what you get out of it.

Both. You'll know if you've done it right if love is not allowed to exist here on earth.

You could do countless things for someone and not feel a thing for them. But you could love someone endlessly who doesn't do a thing for you.
