I adored my time in Scotland. I spent most of my time in Edinburough. The hardest thing to deal with was understanding the accent, but that will come with time. The people were wonderful, very friendly and inviting. The weather was a little on the grey side, but depending on where you're from that's not hard to deal with. Best Advice... be yourself... talk to the locals... ask questions... make yourself at home. You'll have a blast!

Depends where you're going exactly! If you're based at a particular Uni/College they should be able to advise you. The people tend to be friendly enough, but some local mannerisms can throw you a bit! It can be chilly and wet in autumn - make sure you have a good coat! Come November it'll be freezing (hat and scarf job). I'm also told that we have a damp cold here (I dated a Canadian guy) - I think that makes it feel colder than it is, but being native I don't notice. Let me know if you need anything more - happy to help!

Expect to be in AWE. It is a beautiful place.. so peaceful and the people (unless they haves changed) were/are great. I enjoyed the place very much... I do not know where you will be living.. with a family? in an apartment (flat in English).. but I am SURE you will be fascinated by it all.. I am VERY sorry to report though that you will probably NOT be able to see the Loch Ness Monster.. sorry about that.

I have no idea what to expect (never been myself) but I just wanted to voice my jealousy at your opportunity to go and study in Scotland. Good luck and have fun.
