As a man, I find this ironic also because the fits for a husky/portly man is completely different than a thinner man. The fabric for shirts needs to be let out in the front quite a bit and darted in the back.

I found some famous-maker labels have some clue how to do this look with making it look presentable. Some look like a poncho or mumu for men especially dress shirts or polos.

The models for the men's clothing is usually the tall category of big & tall. I have to admit that the tall men have problems also to find appropriate looking clothing - most pants on them look like capris.
